So it seems that Movable Type (3.2 at least, may have been there longer) supports ALT-D for deleting an entry while on the “Edit Entry” screen. Unfortunately, this is also the keystroke to access the address bar in Internet Explorer. Luckily I don’t use IE much. I could see that being a problem.
Using Firefox, I tend to use CTRL-L instead, which means I don’t have to worry about it. I have to say, in fact, that I rarely use key mappings in Movable Type, though I’m sure that there are plenty of them out there.
It’s just scary that something in use by the dominant browser would be used so easily to delete an entry – did that not make it through quality assurance, or is no one in QA using IE with key mappings, or what? That seems like a really bad choice to me. Did no one notice this?
