I could claim that the last entry on the subject was simply an April Fool’s joke, but in reality there are two reasons why that is not the case. One is that there are so many such jokes on the internet that the world doesn’t need one from me. Two is that it just wouldn’t be true.
In actuality, I screwed up paths in two places. One was in the updated automatic update file (I used the wrong name for the file). The other was in the location of the updated file. It was actually returning a 404 page, which isn’t a good idea. If you updated directly from the link, then you probably would have had better luck. But the automated process was just hosed.
This wasn’t helped by the fact that I broke the automatic update file by not naming it correctly. Thus a number of you would also see an error connecting to the update server. In any case, this should now be fixed. At some time in the near future, if you have updates enabled, you should be prompted to install a new version of the toolkit. If you want it now, either check now for updates or install it manually. Sorry for any difficulties.

When I did as you said, I got a -1, even though I am registered at Bloglines, and I can log in and I have recieved e-mail from them.
But I found out that I had missed one letter when I entered my e-mail adress.. So now it works! I’m sorry for the trouble!
This support has been there for quite a while, on the Toolkit side. To verify your address is set up correctly at Bloglines, open this link in your browser:
Making sure to replace <youremailaddress> with your actual email address, including the plus. If this request contains a “-1”, then the address is invalid at Bloglines (not registered). If it includes a valid number (basically any other number), let me know and I will investigate further.
Hi! I have one request for Bloglines Toolkit. I just started trying it, but I can’t get it to work becouse it dosn’t allow me to use an e-mailadress with a plus (+) in it. I use Gmail that supports that, and I signed up for a Bloglines account using an e-mailadress with a plus in it. Could you please change this in the next release..? Thanks! 🙂
Works great! Thanks!
Just installed it and it works like a charm.
Thanks, and keep up the great work!
