Email Subscriptions Now Available »
I've been debating for a while about whether or not to add an email subscription option, but I finally decided to do it. Using FeedBurner makes the option really painless to implement, after all, so I figured that there was no harm in doing so.
If you already use FeedBurner - and anyone using Movable Type has no reason not to, with the release earlier this year of my MT-FeedBurner plugin - then you can use this service.
To activate the service, just sign into your account, then click on the Publicize tab, then Email Subscriptions. This will provide you with the link you need to allow users to sign up. It will take the form of:
http://www.feedburner.com/fb/a/emailverifySubmit?feedId=999999&loc=en_US
Where your feedId will replace the 999999. Just create a link on your site with this URL, and then let your users start signing up. Using the Communications Preferences, Email Branding and Delivery Options features, you can customize the look of your confirmation messages, the subscription message, and even when your email will be delivered!
Here at Don't Back Down, you will see a link in the sidebar allowing you to subscribe, as well as at the bottom of each and every entry. The sidebar links also provide easy options for subscribing in your favorite aggregators, so you shouldn't have any excuse for keeping up with what's been happening. Let me know if you have any problems.
Just make sure that those of you reading via email and via RSS visit the blog every now and again to see what's happening, such as a new designs and the like!
