Joe's BestBurger Review »

We stayed in the Sheraton in Chinatown, which is just around the corner from Joe's, and let's face it - there aren't a lot of options in the area unless you want Chinese food (to be expected). I've also had In-n-Out (and Chick-Fil-A), and this place isn't close to either, though it's been compared to both. Keeping that in mind, it's a lot better than your typical fast food, too.

The menu is really limited. You basically have burgers and chicken. You can get the chicken on a bun or off (chicken strips). You can get it with cheese or without. You can get a single, or add a $1 per level (single to a double or double to a triple). That's about it.

They also have drinks, and you can get a "deal" by rounding up to the next whole dollar, but usually that's only good if you want a cookie or a piece of chocolate or something. The food is cooked fresh to order, but they do mess up - so keep your eye on what you get. If you don't like thousand island, don't get the Joe's sauce (try replacing it with the garlic sauce - mmm).

The fries aren't anything to write home about, and the place is often a bit of a mess. But it's not a bad place for a bite, especially if you want something other than Chinese. Probably not worth it for the ride if you're coming from the city, however.

Best Fantastic Franchise Fries - Joe's Bestburger [Village Voice]

"The french fries at Joe's BestBurger (39-11 Main St, Flushing) are totally dope, beating the pants off McDonald's, Burger King, and all their hairy pals. Even by French-bistro standards the fries are superlative: High-moisture potatoes cut into irregular thick matchsticks, with little swatches of skin adhering here and there, fried to a burnished brownness. You won't need ketchup or mayo. Other exemplary fare includes a lush double cheeseburger that reminds me of California's Fatburger chain - there's one in Jersey City if you insist on testing the veracity of this claim.
