South Street Diner Review (Boston, MA 02111) »

While we were trying to figure out the bizarre looping detour to get back to the airport one morning (luckily we allowed plenty of time), we happened to notice a diner sitting there on the street corner, right in the midst of all the buildings. Talk about out of place. Since we had been around the block several times and had to get out of the rut, we decided to park and try and get our wits about us. Probably the best decision we made.

While South Street is apparently open all night, we made it there at about 9am, so it wasn't very crowded (there wasn't much free room, however) and were promptly served. The food was great, though I'd be hard-pressed to call it either "cheap" or "overpriced". For what you get, I'd say it's a fair trade.

The crowd varies greatly as well, and I could easily see that at 3 or 4 in the morning, it might be a very interesting place - this is probably not where you'd like to hang out if you're worried about what part of town you're in, but if you happen to be in that part of town and need something to eat, then this is the place for you.
