Courtyard Boston Norwood Review (Norwood, MA 02062) »
While looking for a place to stay during our recent trip to the Norwood area (a business trip - there really isn't much to see for a pleasure trip), we decided to see what there was in the area. The map shows several hotels clustered around I-95, but I'm not usually a fan of being right there on the Interstate, though that's not always a bad thing, either - and it does offer plenty of options if I needed it, so I decided that we could come back if needed.
In the end, there were two options that seemed more compelling. One is a relatively new Hampton Inn (that is right next to The Chateau - now that I'm familiar with that establishment, it might make a difference) and the other is the Courtyard Boston Norwood, which was further down the road, but it also has a bit better setting.
The Hampton Inn is right there off the highway, and by off the highway, I mean you pull off the highway and into the parking lot and you're there. The Courtyard, on the other hand, is set back from the road and into a business park with a very nice setting - there are trees and a really nice area. Of course, if you're tired and pulling of for a night's rest before driving again, it won't matter much. But if you'll be there for a night or two, I suspect that you will appreciate the difference.
The Courtyard offers a decent room and you get high-speed access included, though it did require a cable, rather than being wireless, and the room did not include the cable like it said it would, so I had to call to get it, and it took them a while, but once delivered, it worked like a champ. All-in-all, not a bad deal and not a bad price.
