Duffy's Love Shack Review (St. Thomas, USVI 00802) »
One thing we noticed on St. Thomas is that just about every restaurant we visited was voted the best of something. Perhaps we were just lucky. Or perhaps they like to make sure everyone feels included. Duffy's is voted the best parking lot bar. Or restaurant. Or something. I can't imagine there are a whole lot of those, but then what do I know? As it is, the place is pretty unique - a smallish building on the outskirts of a parking lot in Red Hook, near the St. John's ferry terminal. Definitely gives you the feeling of being in the tropics, but it would do so even more if you could see the water nearby.
Lots of fancy drinks on the menu, and most of them give you a souvenir glass to take home if you like that kind of thing. The food is decent, but not outstanding. They also have an interesting flaming smores dessert that it pretty good, but they had a heck of a time lighting it - one of the downfalls to being a mostly open-air building in the midst of a parking lot. As with most other places on the island, it's a bit expensive, but not absurdly so.
