Flo's Clam Shack and Raw Bar Review (Portsmouth, RI 02871) »
This is the original location of Flo's Clam Shack. There's another one in Newport, but it's bigger and has none of the funkiness of this location. I can't speak to the food, as I haven't actually eaten there - I'm sure it's pretty similar.
The "stuffy" is a sort of deviled clam, the "clam cakes" are a sort of hush puppy with pieces of clam in them and you can pretty well figure out everything else. The food is fresh, comes up quick and is priced well.

We ate there today. it was me my girlfriend and her mother.
we all ordered a half dozen clam cakes and 3 creamy chowders.
when we strolled up to the cashier, she was apparently a young married woman with no people skills. and was rude when we ordeed our drinks after the meal
her facial expresion along with her huffing and puffing gave us the "Just give us your money and move along feeling"
1st - The clam cakes were the WORST EMPTY BREAD SACKS EVER EATEN
I FOUND NO CLAM PIECES AT ALL. THEY SHOULD BE RENAMED TO PITY CAKES.
2- THE CLAMCHOWDER HAD NO FLAVOR AT ALL. THE ONLY TASTE IT HAS WAS THE SALT WE ADDED TO IT TO ENHANCE THE WATER WITH FOOD COLOR TO MAKE IT LOOK LIKE CLAM CHOWDER.
3 THE PRICE FOR 3 SMALL CUPS OF SOUP AND 1 IN A HALF DOZEN OF PITY CAKES WAS 20 DOLLARS.
WE GOT SERIOUSLY RIPPED OFF BOTH PRIDUCT WISE AND PRICE WISE.
WE WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN AND WILL NEVER RECOMEND GOINGT O ANY OF OUR FRIENDS.
BEFORE LEAVING WE SEEN A YOUNG MAN THROUGH THE SCREEN DOOR AND ASKED WHY THERE WAS NO CLAMS IN OUR PITY CAKES. ALL HE COULD SAY WAS HUH. THEN WIPED THE SWEAT FROM HIS FOREHEAD WITH HIS HAND, THEN WALKED AWAY WITH A CUSTOMERS ORDER
