Flood Tide Restaurant Review (Mystic, CT 06355) »
This restaurant, within the Inn at Mystic, has a nice view overlooking the bay. Unfortunately the windows don't seem to have been cleaned for some time, the service isn't very good and the food isn't that great either. You're probably better off stopping elsewhere.
It's actually a shame because the restaurant is nice in appearance, and it has potential. But the servers don't seem to know the menu, and they don't speak particularly good English. I don't generally hold this against people, but when it becomes a problem with ordering, it's an issue. If we were in a different country or even an ethnic restaurant, that is perhaps an excuse, but neither is true here.
As to the food, it was simply okay, and delivery took a while. The clam chowder was decent, the rest was simply okay. Most was over-seasoned, which is often a sign that the basic ingredients are inferior. This isn't to say that they are, just that it's often used to disguise something, and I was disappointed. If it weren't for the chowder, this place wouldn't even rate two stars.
