Mills Tavern Review »
Walking into a tavern, we expected something a bit less formal. But that aside, we were pleasantly surprised - it wasn't bad at all. The food was tasty, though when ordering "potato fondue" we received what most people would simply call "mashed potatoes". Just a bit of marketing. The food was good.
The best part of the meal was undoubtedly the dessert, for which we actually had something more like an appetizer - a plate of cheese. The three cheeses on the plate were a good selection: One was a hard cheese (like parmesan), one was a strong cheese (like bleu) and the other a softer, mild cheese (similar in texture to brie, but it tasted different), along with some bread. Along the outside were some fruits and nuts. Very good.
Unfortunately the service was really bad. The frightening part was that we arrived rather early and there was almost no one there, yet service was still really slow. Friendly, but slow. Make sure you have plenty of time.
