Anchor Line Restaurant Review (Charleston, SC 29412) »
I had heard good things about this place, and I'm always up for trying a local place, but I have to say I was disappointed. The first problem was that it's small. That in itself isn't a big deal, but apparently lots of other folks also had high hopes, and it means you have to wait. When you wait, it's not a huge problem, but it better be worth the wait. This wasn't.
The restaurant, while not fancy, has good potential, sitting right over a creek, but it's just off the road, which is now pretty busy, and it's just not enjoyable. Throw in the fact that the food gets most of the flavor from the breading, not from the food itself (the breading isn't bad) and the sides (fries, rice, beans, etc) just aren't that good, it really isn't worth it. You're better off going down the street to Bowen's Island. Way better off. Trust me.
