Bessinger's Barbeque Review »

The Bessinger family has had a firm grasp on South Carolina barbeque for half a century, and Bessinger's Barbeque on Savannah Highway in Charleston is the place to go if you want to get the best of the best. Here the chopped pork is slow-simmered in the mustard-based sauce until it's tender and juicy. No need for slaw or even adding extra sauce, though it's always provided (you can even buy some to take home).

Make sure you try their onion rings as well, because you aren't likely to find them made like this anywhere else. They are truly unique, and fresh out of the fryer they taste out-of-this world. Next time you're in Charleston, make sure you stop in for a bite. It's worth it.
