Don Pedro Mexican Restaurant Review (Charlotte, NC 28212) »
This is another restaurant in a strip mall, but this one is different. As you walk through the entrance, it's a bit puzzling, as there doesn't seem to be anywhere to sit - but then you are led through the doors that open into a large almost warehouse-like space that has been converted to look like a Mexican cantina. The server then greets you warmly and delivers toasty warm tortilla chips and salsa.
A suitably large menu follows, and every selection I've tried (and I've tried many) has been good, with fresh ingredients and good-sized portions. The prices are decent and about every time I've been I have returned home with leftovers. I just need to remember that and not order to much. But the food is so good, that's tough to do.
As part of a regional chain, you should be able to get similar food at other locations in the area, including the Azteca restaurant (but this is the only one I've been to).
