Shun Lee Palace Review »
Hidden around the back of some other buildings in the Cotswald section of Charlotte, this is truly one of the better finds in the area. Every time I have been to the restaurant I've walked away full and happy - and typically with leftovers. The staff is quick to serve and friendly, but the servers don't waste much time. They know their stuff, so feel free to ask them what they recommend, but take their advice and go rather than thinking about it.
The owners wander the dining room and chat with the diners, which is a nice touch, but it's the food that shines in a non-pretentious way. The scallion pancakes are a surprising find that I can't recall seeing anywhere before, and the entrees are quite well-made and quickly delivered. Even on a weekend night the place is jumping and the tables are full but the crowd moves through quickly.
Well worth a trip.
