Monterrey Mexican Restaurant Review (Matthews, NC 28105) »
If you're looking for a decent Mexican meal, then this local chain is a decent choice. It's not the most authentic in town, but it's not the most Americanized either. The service is generally good, the food fast and the ingredients fresh.
While the inside of the restaurant has been upgraded in the last couple of years and is a bit nicer, the food quality has gone down somewhat. Still, it's not bad for a relatively inexpensive meal, and you get good portions to boot.

I ate at Monterrey off of Sunset Boulevard in Lexington on Sunday, March 4. I was checking my credit card account online a few days later and I noticed they added more to my account than I had on my credit card slip. They added money to my bill!
