Papaya King Review (New York, NY 10028) »
The original Papaya King stand is still there in New York, and in a nod to tradition, we visited it one sunny afternoon. Sure, there are other locations, but sometimes you just have to go to where it all started. And in this case that is a cramped, standing room only location on 86th and 3rd.
In another nod to tradition we had an original hot dog and a papaya drink (I don't actually know if there's a name for that drink). The dog was good. Not great, but good. I don't know that I'd go too far out of my way to get one, but I'm glad I had it. The drink wasn't bad, but it was a bit runny. What would be good if it was thicker - like a smoothie perhaps. Still, sometimes you just have to do it the old-fashioned way.
