Lombardi's Pizza Review »

While Patsy's Pizza is good, Lombardi's is awesome. Even if you just sorta, kinda like pizza, make time to visit.

Like Patsy's, they use a coal oven at Lombardi's. Like Patsy's, Lombardi's has been around a long time. But the comparison really needs to stop there. Lombardi's is in Little Italy. The ambience is incredible. And the place is packed. Even at an early hour the tables were crowded. By the time we left the line outside was long.

The pizza was light, the crust was crisp and the toppings were incredible. This was pizza as it is supposed to be - and for good reason. This is the birthplace of American pizza places. In 1905, Lombardi's was the first place - ever - licensed as a pizzeria. Over 100 years later and it's still well worth a visit.
