Golden Palace Restaurant Review (Charlotte, NC 28212) »

Since it appears that the King Buffet may have closed, we were suddenly without a place to eat. So we ran (well, we drove) down the street to the Golden Palace. This is an older establishment, and a bit hidden in a strip mall, but the food is pretty tasty and the price is right.

At least at lunch, they serve one of those bowls of fried crispy things that are great for dipping. Surely not heart-healthy, but if you want that, you probably don't want to be eating out anyway. We also ordered their Shrimp Toast appetizer, and it was interesting. It was like a small piece of shrimp combined somehow with a piece of toast and all fried together. The flavor was good, but it was a bit greasy.

More Perceived Persecution »

With the release of the movie version of The Da Vinci Code today, a story has hit the wire where a spokesman for the National Organization for Albinism and Hypopigmentation complains about how many albino villains there are in movies, saying "The problem is there has been no balance. There are no realistic, sympathetic or heroic characters with albinism that you can find in movies or popular culture."
