Don't Back Down

Dilantin, 200mg, Day 1 »

Not quite twelve hours after dropping my dosage again, and thus far I'm feeling pretty good. I actually got up about half an hour earlier than normal this morning, and the headache that has been bothering me for the last week is, thus far, pretty much non-existent. I can still feel a little pressure, but nothing like I've been feeling for the last week or so. Hopefully this is a good sign.

I also feel a little light-headed today. Not sure if this is because of the medicine, the sheer amount of laundry that I've been doing or the fact that I've had about 8 strips of bacon in the last 12 hours (probably more than in the prior 6 months combined). That's likely it. My arteries are hardening as I type.

France to the Rescue »

While the ruling out of France that Apple must open iTunes continues to rumble, and some celebrate, you just have to wonder - how much is France worth, anyway? Will it even matter? Just what happens if Apple doesn't comply? They aren't allowed to offer a French version of the software, perhaps? No more iPods for their citizens maybe? I don't know.

But it seems to me that the government - and by that, I mean any government, and not just the US - to decide that Apple isn't playing fair isn't likely to make a bit of difference, unless they can get a whole lot of other counties to follow suit.

I mean it isn't like France is isolated or anything. How long can it take someone in France to get to, say, England, Italy or Spain, pick up an iPod, and get back? Or maybe they'll hop on down to pick up some alternative player instead and Steve Jobs will miss out on a few stock options. Does it really matter so much?

New Tivo Software »

This morning the Tivo displayed a message telling me that it had some new software, and now sported a Recently Deleted folder. No more confirming deletions, and they were instead moved to this folder, where you could recover them if needed. I like it.

Though I didn't really have need of it, a couple items deleted prior to this software update were found in this folder when the update was applied. Neat.

I also think the main menu changed, putting the Programs to Record selection at #3, below Watch Live TV. I never use that option, so I wish it were at #2 instead, but it's better than being at the bottom of the list.
