What happened to Kenny Rogers? »
Watching Good Morning America, and Kenny Rogers is singing now. I realize he can't be the Santa Clause-looking guy he was in the 80s (in fact, I winced when that picture came on earlier). But wow - he looks like he's had a lot of work done, he has an odd fake-looking tan and a strange goatee and an alternative band hairdo. Sure, the sound is about the same, but wow. It doesn't look like the same guy. What happened?

I saw him recently on an ice skating show and thought the same thing. However, his voice sounded very weak at that time.

I think he had some ill-advised cosmetic surgery. I was searching to find some reference to explain his apearence when I found this posting.

Just saw him on American Idol and got online to see what happened. He looks awful!! Even his eyes seem to have gotten smaller - how is this possible?? I liked the "old" Kenny so much better. Maybe this is the result of becoming a dad so late in life??

We just watched American Idol and saw Kenny Rogers and I wouldn't even recognize him walking down the street as the Kenny Roger's I knew from years past. What happened to his eyes?

I agree with everyone, what the heck happened??? I would not of recognized Kenny Rogers if it wasn't for his voice. I don't think the changes were for the good, as far as his voice goes, I detected a weakness as well. I hope it is nothing serious.

I actually had a chance to sing on stage with him on his, Christmas show in December. He's listed at being 6'1" tall. I'm only 5'9 1/2" tall and he was no taller than I am. He also walks like SpongeBob. I feel sorry for him.

I saw him last night here in the UK on American Idol.
Good grief!! He looks like an alien. Told my husband that I defo would not have recognised the bloke in the street.
A bit sad really.

Yep, Kenny's definitely been ill-advised when it comes to plastic surgery. Does anyone agree with me that he looks like Burt Reynolds' evil twin??

My sister and I have loved Kenny Rogers since we were kids.We couldn't believe our eyes. Some poor doctor is now rich. Poor Kenny, all his aura and sex appeal is gone, he even had it at an older age. Too bad-----sooooooo SADDDDDDDD

Kenny was such a hot babe back in the day and got better and better looking as he aged. OMG why did he have that done to himself?? He is unrecognizable. Nature was doing a darn good job, he should have left it alone. Where'e his eyes go?

I tunned SET (I live in Venezuela) and just watched Idol with Kenny Rogers... I had to go on-line to check if "that" Kenny R. was the same Kenny R. my dad played over and over when I was a kid... it was the same guy... I just couldn't believe my eyes...Why Mr. Rogers?

All I can say is...yikes! I saw Kenny on American Idol and my jaw hit the floor. I just couldn't believe what he'd done to himself. How sad. And yes, he does look like Burt Reynolds' evil twin LOL

Not only is his face unrecognizable look at his body/shoulders he was so rugged and manly looking he looks like a pip squeak I am so shocked and saddened with his change. And not to mention how his hair thinned. It was so dang thick and full. Is it possible he has cancer of some sort?? He's been gone for a long time too, I'm sure most TV stations have gotten alot of questions on his "new" look. I hope we find out soon!

I agree with Mel that he looks like Burt Reynolds. It was the first thing I thought when I saw him (well, after the horror and disbelief turned to freakish curiosity and fascination.) He really messed up his face. No going back now, huh! Why why why do people do this to themselves? Who tells them it looks good? To quote Wendy "Grow oldd gracefully chaps!" honestly!!

I do not mean to seem negative however, I too saw Kenny Rogers last week on American Idol and I immediately thought that he had surgery. I always thought that he was handsome and this surgery really did not help him at all. What happened to his eyes? They seem smaller. My husband and I said that if we saw him walking down the street we would not be able to recognize him. Sometimes you just need to appreciate what God has given you :-). KC

Kenny Rogers no longer looks like a man. Rather he looks irreversibly frightening and it is indeed sad that he felt compelled to alter what once was a wonderful human beings' face...it matched his songs...now he's merely a voice to listen to...one can't look at him. We are distressed that he has done this to himself. Awful. And very tragic.

I think he is the personification of the man every woman wishes she was married to, but I thought the same thing...pretty bad cosmetic surgery and he was handsome without it...Does anyone know what color his eyes are?

Maybe Cyndi is onto something....maybe he's sick. God, I hope not. He's one entertainer that I feel a real connection to. He has a gentleness about him in a very masculine way...I think he has a way about him that makes a woman want to take care of him. He looks a little lost, a little sad...lonely. Oh course, I might be influenced by the words of the music he sings... I didn't realize that he's been married five times until I read his bio yesterday.

What the heck happened to Kenny Rogers face? He was so good looking, even with age. He really fouled up the naturally beautiful face that he was born with. Just could not leave well enough alone. He's looking like a total freak!

I had the privilege of meeting KR on several occasions during his "1st" comeback...right after Lucille came out and then over a period of years while he helped our community build the Kenny Rodger Cerebral Palsey Center. What a shame that he opted for the "knife". Oh well, that was his decision. I and many, many other people will always appreciate his music and incredible generosity.

I couldn't believe it when I saw Kenny Rogers on American Idol. Looks nothing like the Kenny Rogers I know...it was a little scary, and I tried to figure out what had happened. Maybe he has been sick...but that wouldn't account for his face and eyes being so different. If he did have plastic surgery, it is too bad it turned out that way. Having a nip and tuck here and there can do a person good, but it looks like he was going for changing his face completely. Or, the surgeon went a little overboard.

One more thing...there is a website "Men Who Look Like Kenny Rogers" which has pictures posted by people of men who look like Kenny. Well, now Kenny doesn't even look like Kenny Rogers. How sad.

I have never been so DISAPPOINTED in all my life. Kenny WAS my favorite country singer for many years than I care to admit. I will NEVER EVER buy anything that anybody promotes of his. I NEVER thought that he would be so VAIN. I have friends and family that feel the same way.It was a nice journey with you Kenny, but the journey stops NOW!

I was shocked to see the "new" Kenny Rogers!
He looks nothing like himself. I can't believe with all of his money, he was unable to find a good cosmetic surgeon. It's so sad!

It's so sad that even with all of the money that a star like Kenny Rogers has that he had to end up with such an awful plastic surgeon. He's mentioned that he is trying to have it fixed and I hope that he will be able to find someone to help him. His plastic surgeon should be shot! Wish we knew who it was!

My husband seems to think that it is a big conspiracy and that the "Kenny Rogers" we are seeing is in fact an impersonator. He believes the real Kenny is off somewhere tired of being famous and enjoying his money. I think his idea is totally ridiculous! Kenny hasn't even been in the spotlight for years. Why would he need another guy to impersonate him? Is anyone else crazy enough to believe this theory? We have a bet, please help!

I think you all are very jealous! Kenny is still very good looking. So maybe he had a surgery done - how many people do this and no one says anything?
Kenny does it and y'all make him sound like he looks like some alien. I think he looked awesome before and still does. He looks refreshed!
Kenny you really didn't need a surgery but I think you're still hot. Ignore the media!
