Don't Back Down

Tonight the Zonegran dose will be at full-strength (400mg), so I am taking the first steps to reduce my Dilantin dosage. The first change is to take only one Dilantin pill (100mg) in the morning. I'll still take 3 pills (300mg) in the evening.

Though actually my medication has been changing for a couple of weeks now, it's taken on a new direction. To recap. For roughly 20 years I've been on Dilantin. With a few notable exceptions, we've been able to get along just fine. So switching medicines has been a bit of a nervous option for me. Frankly, I haven't wanted to do so. I know a lot of people don't like Dilantin, but for a drug first synthesized nearly 100 years ago, I'm okay with a few potential side effects. At least they are well known. For a newer drug that perhaps only has been around for 10 years, the answers just aren't there.

Seriously. I've had this little itch to reorganize things around here for a while, and once I get the server move completed, I think I probably will do so. One of the things on my mind is the archives. I know that I rarely read the archives of anyone else's site. So why do we have archives?

Tonight marks a full dose of Zonegran, at 400mg. I've been feeling a bit drowsy, but I think it's from the high level of drugs in me right now. Hopefully with the Dilantin starting to taper off, that will be better soon.
