Double Recovery »
Some of you may not have realized that I slipped in a comment the other day about having a seizure. Not your fault. I didn't really do so to intentionally minimize things, but I just wasn't thinking about it. So for those who have inquired: Both recoveries are going about as well as can be expected.
The hard drive in my old laptop actually fired back up for a while, meaning those of you who are due invoices will be getting them after all. Sorry.
The seizure recovery has taken me longer than normal. I guess that's to blame when you get older. This one wasn't as bad as the one that I had last summer, but apparently there were four smaller seizures, and it ended up with me spending the bulk of Friday morning in the emergency room.
For those of you who haven't had a seizure, it's a bit difficult to describe. Actually, it's a bit difficult all around, as I'm effectively out for the count while it's happening, and only come to a bit later. This has been no different, but it's actually been about four days now and I'm only starting to feel somewhat normal. Just a general haze over my brain or something. But I feel pretty good.
Except for the fact that I had a seizure in the first place. You see, I hadn't had any for a very long time. Something like 15 years. Then had one about four years ago when my medication level was really low. Then I was doing fine until last year when I went on a whirlwind trip to the other coast and just wore my butt out. So those are somewhat understandable.
But this time I was pretty well rested, my medication level was normal and I have no idea why I had a seizure. Those are the most disturbing.

Life has a way of whacking us when we least expect it.

Right, that's it, no more skimming for me.
I remembered seeing the keyboard/mouse/USB hub bit, without really needing to focus because I didn't have anything to add or take, and completely missed the "my brain zapped itself without having any good excuse" part.
Misbehaving brains are always frustrating, but doing it out of the blue is the worst. Smack it for me, and tell it I want it to behave and leave you alone.

Chad,
Take it easy and get the rest you need.
