Ancient Chinese Wisdom »
I had lunch today at King Buffet, a new restaurant on Albemarle Road near Harris Boulevard. The food isn't bad, and they have one heck of a selection. Not just Chinese, but pizza, home cooking (mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese) and even stuffed shells. Good enough that it's not worth driving across town to the China King Buffet. That's not to say I don't like the China King - only that they are close enough in quality that it's not worth the drive.
Nonetheless, the true entertainment comes, as always, from the fortune cookie. Today's was a simple classic: "You are strong and brave". I always wonder how they know these things. Especially when I read the detail on the wrapper containing the chopsticks: "please try your Nice Chinese Food With Chopsticks the traditional and typical of Chinese glorious history. and cultural" (capitalization, grammar and punctuation as it is on the wrapper).
