Safe Driving with iTunes »

Test your driving knowledge with the Driving Skills for Life test, sponsored by Ford, and you can (allegedly) win free downloads from iTunes (via).

The first time I took the test, I scored 8 out of 10 (enough to win the prize), but the server timed out before I received my "prize notice", so nothing for me. The second time I took the test, I couldn't get anything right and stopped about four questions in, once I missed the third question. The third time, I nailed all 10 questions and received a notice saying that I would get something from iTunes within two weeks.

You may want to read up on the study sections, but I didn't do so. The test is pretty well geared towards common sense, though some of the answers are more phsyics-related (where does the weight of the car shift when you accelerate, how to behave in a skid, that sort of thing).

If you take the test more than once, you will likely see the same questions again, but they are - supposedly - randomized, so it won't be the same over and over. The bank for random questions appears pretty small, though, because after taking it half-a-dozen times, probably 7-8 of the questions each time through are ones I've seen before.

Apparently you can take it more than once, even if you pass the test, because even after completing it successfully, I was able to log in again to start the test, and get all the way through and receive another "prize notice". What I don't know is if you'll actually receive more than one prize, since the rules say one entry per person. Guess I'll have to wait and see what happens. I'll probably be disqualified for taking it more than once and receive exactly bupkiss.
