Fundraising for Schools »

The wonderfully competent crew at Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is at it again, offering up a $150-per-plate gala (just $250 for couples!) to benefit schools.

Don't think I'm against the schools or anything, but maybe I'm just stupid and don't get how in the world we survived before events such as these? Have schools always required such amazing amounts of tax dollars, coupled with fund-raising galas, just to teach? Or is this getting a bit out of hand?
