Don't Back Down

Turning to the Goat »

I haven't been able to get a ping to go through the Pingomatic RPC interface for a while - perhaps weeks. So in browsing about for explanations, I stumbled across Pingoat. Now I'm not sure if the name is pronounced pin-goat, ping-oat, or even something else, but I figured I'd give it a run to see if it at least works more reliably than P-o-M. Here goes nothing.

Update: Indeed, truer words have not been uttered for a while. Looks like a big load of nothing indeed. Hrm. Does there exist a multiple-ping service with a reliable RPC server, so that I don't have to ping everyone individually?

Update: So I've settled on a mix of Feedster, Moreover (MSN), Technorati and Yahoo. The speed seems good, meaning the page returns quickly, and I think it's a good cross-section to get the word out.

I have finally fixed the daily and monthly links. The problem was with the Smarty template.

Enhanced Template Header »

I know that the new Movable Type just came out, so I probably ought not to make feature requests at this point. Tough. I have one.

Invariably I'm editing templates and I need to jump from the one I'm in - let's just call it an index template - to another, perhaps a template module. The problem? I have to click "templates", then click the "modules" tab to get there. That's two clicks, where it used to be one click and a small scroll. Luckily, the solution is easy.

More Intelligent Rebuilding »

Okay, I have another request (perhaps two). The new "Save and Rebuild" button in templates is nice, but I miss the old "Rebuild" by itself - what if I just want to rebuild, but have no need to save it again? That's not a biggie. I can deal with it if I have to do so. What I want is really intelligent rebuilding, especially as it relates to archives.

Improved Comment Navigation »

Okay, one more feature request. I like the improved comment management, and I even like the navigation that allows you to go from one to the next. What would be really cool is if it respected the "unpublished" quickfilter.

Bring Back the Enter Key »

This feature request isn't so much a request as a demand. Not that I'll really do anything about it, so maybe it can't be a demand after all.
