Don't Back Down

Adding Google Talk IM »

So I see Google Talk is official (sorta). Though it wasn't there a few minutes ago, they now have instructions for setting up Google Talk with Gaim. Sadly, they don't seem to work. I've tried with talk.google.com as the server, which gives me a "not allowed" message, and I've tried with the recommended "gmail.com" as the server, which just times out. Perahaps I'll wait.

Update: As is my common behavior, I didn't read all of the instructions. Make sure you scroll down to those additional options and enter the connect server. Then it seems to work. You can ping me there at my gmail address.

And Another: Most everything should be working now. I know the archive links are messed up to the last 8 days of content and the monthly archives have links to months that won't exist. But for info that does exist, they should be fine. Let me know if you run into anything else.

One More: The MT 3.2 multiple category selector thing is way cool - make sure that you try it out for an easy way to add your entries to more than one category quickly and easily.

I have yet to climb upon the IM bandwagon. I figure, if you can wait, you can email me. If you can't wait, you can call me. I'm not sure my ADD brain needs any more distrations than it already has.
