South African Sausages »
At a small shindig not long ago, we tasted some amazing sausages. After inquiring about them, we were told that they were called, creatively, "South African Sausages". So where does one find these delectable delights in Charlotte, you might ask? Why, the South African Food Shop, of course!
Yes, it is in Matthews, but it's not that far. Drive a little. These sausages are well worth the trip. Apparently the best method of preparation is to boil the sausages in beer - Amstel was recommended - for about 10 minutes, then slap them on the grill. Mmmm.

I think the more common term is "boerewors", pronounced "boo-ruh-vorss". They *are* good, and I'll second that technique for cooking them.
