Don't Back Down

The other day as I was re-categorizing entries, I happened across this old post where I talked about downloads from the site. I figured it was time for an update.

The Bloglines Toolkit is still in the lead, but by a much larger margin. It's now been downloaded 22,122 times (up nearly 600%, total as of March 31). That's a lot. Something over 11,000 of those downloads are for the most recent version, so I'd take that as a reasonable proxy for the number of people running it. Of course, I'm sure there are people who have it at home and at work, or need to reinstall, but still I would suspect that it's a decent estimate, as there are also people like myself who download it once and install it multiple times - or potentially even send it to others.

The Movable Type plugins have also improved, but not by such a dramatic amount. MT-Notifier is still the second-most-popular download, with 2037 downloads (compared to 812, up 150%). The largest surprise is perhaps that MT-Moderate has jumped from last place all the way to third, with an increase from 233 downloads to 788 (up more than 200%).

Fourth place belongs to MT-SomeDays, which has dropped one place in the rankings by gaining just 177 downloads (up just 40%). Next in line is MT-Approval, coming out of nowhere (literally - it didn't exist the last time I wrote) and grabbing 466 downloads. Last place this time around is MT-Outliner, which gained only 115 downloads. It also had the smallest gain, with just under 30% from last time.
