Running the Numbers »
Google yesterday announced another new feature, Search by Number. Very cool stuff. Now the package tracking feature isn't quite as cool as the similar service offered by Bloglines. After all, those will keep you updated on the status, not just give you a single look at what's happening.
But Vehicle ID Numbers (VIN), UPC Codes, Patents, FAA Airplane IDs, FCC Equipment IDs and even telephone area codes? That's just sweet. Now that I spent a few minutes looking up all the bar-coded items near my desk, I probably won't use any of them anytime soon. But it's nice to know that I can if needed!
