Toolkit in Chinese and French »
Thanks to Peter Chu and Xavier Robin, the Bloglines Toolkit is now available in Chinese (Taiwan, R.O.C, zh-TW) and French (fr-FR), respectively. Automatic updates should process this change automatically, or you can use the link to download the update.

I get a message stating it's "Not a valid install package."

I'm having the same problem. "Not a valid install package" with Firefox 1.0.2.

When do you get the message? That is, prior to installation? Or after rebooting? I'm curious because it's working fine for me.
I also uploaded a new archive of the install and it works fine. I've tried both upgrades and new installs. Also, what language are you using?
Try clearing your cache and re-running the installation, see if that helps. If not, let me know what sort of problems you are having, when you are having them, and any more details you can provide.

I get the same.
1. Click "Install Now" from the Firefox update
2. Immediately get "Firefox encountered problems when updating your software, and as a result not all components could be updated".
3. Click "Details"
4. "The following components could not be installed due to errors (the file could not be downloaded, was corrupt, or for some other reason).
Bloglines Toolkit 1.5.4 (Not a valid install package)
Hope this helps,
-Tom

Clearing the cache did not seem to help. I wonder if this is cached elsewhere.

Please try restarting Firefox/Mozilla and/or restarting your computer. At least one user has had success with the latter approach.

I had the same problem last night. Just fired up the laptop this morning and I'm still getting the same error.

No luck. I have the problem at home and at work. Both machines have been restarted.

install.log in the firefox program directory says:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
http://www.cxliv.org/downloads/Bloglines_Toolkit_1.5.4.xpi -- 2005-04-05 09:00:57
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Install **FAILED** with error -207 -- 2005-04-05 09:00:57
When I go directly to that URL I get a 404 error:
Sorry that your page seems to not exist at the URL you are trying to access. Generally we try to keep links up and running, [...]
Maybe it's as simple as that?

I tried the automatic update on three different machines, and all had the problem described above. Restarting Firefox doesn't help.
Then I tried clicking the link above. Again I got a message about an invalid install package, *but* the entry in my Extensions window changed to "Bloglines Notifier 1.5.4: This item will be installed after you restart Firefox." I restart Firefox and it's indeed upgraded.
Wondering if it could be security-related--perhaps the update fails if you haven't told Firefox it's okay to install updates from downloads.everitz.com? Haven't tested this theory though.
Also, now when I run the updater (after upgrade) it complains that the update server isn't found for Bloglines Notifier.
