My First Upgrade »
Naturally not my first upgrade on my system - I seem to be doing that all the time. But my first upgrade for someone else!
I just finished working with Reb Orrell on his blog, upgrading it from Movable Type 2.64 (I think it was 2.64, anyway, it could have been something even earlier) to 3.121.
Reb was great to work with, the process went smoothly, and I think (hope) that all parties involved are happy with the results. I know that I am, so hopefully Reb is as well. If anyone else out there needs assistance, please let me know how I can help. I do charge for this service as a part of Everitz Consulting.
Sorry, but it takes a little time to complete, and I can't offer it completely for free. I am sure you will find the rates reasonable, however.

Chad,
Just want to thank you for the quick work on upgrading my blog to the latest version of MT. To those out there who need assistance in this area, don't hesitate to contact Chad.
One area I was having concern was with spam comments in the blog. Chad dealt with this issue.
He laid out their entire process before me and answered all of my questions in terms I could understand. The work was done quickly. Can't even tell any difference in the old MT version vs the new; other than the fact that the new MT version is now listed on my blog.
Chad is now going to add a category archives section to my blog to finish out the project.
If you are looking for assistance and are considering upgrading, plug-in assistance, etc.; Chad is your man. Please feel free to contact me directly at reborrell@yahoo.com.

I think he's saying that he can't tell a difference on the publicly visible blog. The MT interface looks quite a bit different. :)

Chad,
Just wanted to give you an update. New version of MT you installed is working fine. Spam has decreased. Instead of having to go in and delete several unwanted comments each day, I now get an email from unregistered comments.
Use the email link and go directly into my control panel and delete the comment, then ban the IP address. Works like a charm.

Hi Reb - Glad to hear that it's going well! One thing to think about, and that is that IP addresses can be shared. So if you get an address from a large ISP (AOL or something) and ban it, you may potentially block future - valid - users from commenting. Not generally an issue, but thought I'd let you know!
