And Now, X2 »

Now that the X1 flight is certified, the official announcement page shows times for today's attempt at X2 - the second flight to space within two weeks in the same craft, and perhaps a victory in the Ansari X Prize. The page shows times of 7:00 am Pacific for liftoff, 8:00 am for ignition and 8:30 am for landing, along with an official announcement of the altitude to be made at 10:30 am. If all goes as planned, that final announcement should mean that Scaled Composites has scored a fat $10 million check for their efforts.

Personally, I think that they should have done it as soon as they landed after the X1 attempt on Thursday. That would have been cool.

Update: Unofficial apogee of 368,000 feet. Wow.
