Webmail Madness »
I don't know why I even bother signing up for webmail accounts. I have at least one at Excite, GMail, MyWay, Netscape, Hotmail and Yahoo! I can't imagine the last time I received anything useful at any of these accounts.
So just now, I went digging through the Yahoo! options to see if spam filtering was on. It was. Yet I had 650 emails in the last month that were spam. I noticed that I didn't have a folder named "Bulk", so I thought maybe it couldn't find anywhere to put it, and it wasn't working. I tried to create it. Nope. That's a reserved name. So apparently you can delete the folder - or exist without it - but you aren't allowed to create it. Nice.

i too have got this problem with a yahoo account, though it is a rocketmail [owned by yahoo], from years ago. is yours also an old account? maybe thats why its happening. ive tried to set one up [like you],and also tried to get a repsonse from them, but no joy there either. good luck with the spam.

I don't think that mine is a rocketmail account - though it wouldn't surprise me if I had both at one time. Perhaps that is the cause. If I actually used it, I'd probably take it up with Y! support. Since I don't, I'll just let it collect spam. May actually let it lapse one of these days and just never go back. We'll see.

Even if you don't want to actively use gmail, it can be useful for mail archiving & searching. If you have the ability to set up procmail rules for your main mailbox, this could be useful:

I am a yahoo mail memeber since 19 March 99.
(You can check it here...

My yahoo email address is mentioned on my website as well as in the signature of almost all the comments I make.
I don't receive a single spam mail in my inbox!
(I do receive 10 - 20 spam mails everyday and they are automatically redirected to Bulk folder)
I haven't received a single spam mail in my gmail account so far.
I do receive a lot of spam at my hotmail account.
I am really satisfied with web mail and can't even think of using any other email solution.

So, what do we do if the bulk folder is not there? Anybody figured that out, because I'm losing important messages and can't get to them as the bulk folder is missing.
