Welcome to My Nightmare »
I'm currently listening to a little Alice Cooper. What a recording.
Speaking of music that I've listened to recently, I've been toying with the idea of a category/section for books, movies and music here on the site. I'll admit, part of the appeal is that I can link to Amazon and perhaps score some referral fees. But I haven't come up with a way to integrate things yet. Any ideas?

Create blog entries in a category called "books" or whatever. Make the titles of those entries URLs that point to the Amazon page, with referral code, for that product. Then generate a listing of the titles of entries in that category and stick it in your nav bar somewhere. You could also put some text (like "[review]") next to the title, which would be a link to the blog entry itself.
Of course, There's More Than One Way To Do It. :-)

Hi Peter - Looks like the Amazing Race leaderboard actually makes sense this week (at least more than it did)! :)
I like your idea, though I probably should have specified that I'm more curious about how to actually present the data. I think it really means that I'm going to change the way things look in general, and as a part of that, I'll integrate reviews/status posts. Thanks for the suggestions!

Ah. Well, I guess in terms of presentation, I'd present it as a list somewhere on your page, with a title like "Recently Read..." or "Recommended Reading"...
My wife keeps a somewhat more manual list of her current reading in her nav section on the left side of our page (http://prwdot.org/) under the heading "Don't take my word for it..." (a la Reading Rainbow :-) ) I should look into having her referral-ize her links so that she can get credit where applicable. :-)

Not a bad idea. I'm thinking of something along those lines for the individual entries (such as this one). For the main page, I'm thinking something different - maybe like an entry from any other category, then an entry from the "review" category, repeat as necessary. Or something. :)
