The Moon Fish »

In the comments of The Angler Fish, Peter asked about the "black (fish) that school" (in Finding Nemo). I'm not certain of which fish he speaks, but if he's talking about the fish that form shapes together such as an arrow, a lobster and a boat, then those appear to be Moon Fish.

This may not be the case, but I did find two sites that mention that they are moon fish, and I haven't found any sites that mention otherwise. I also found a picture of the moon fish, and it looks to me like it could be the same fish, though I haven't examined those in the movie in a whole lot of detail to make sure of it.

My main reason for not being sure what sort of fish we have here is that I found two more sites that talk about the moon fish and how large it is. Strange to me that in the movie those fish didn't seem to be significantly larger than the others, though of course it could mean that Dory and Marlin are just a lot bigger than they seem.

I was thinking about the black fish that at the end of the movie escape from the net by swimming down. But that is interesting about the Moon fish. Thanks!
