Incesssant Impatience »
This weekend, I was reading an article (which I now cannot find) about the continued delays to the completion of the interstate 485 loop in southeast Charlotte and how people just ignore the fact that it isn't yet open and drive on it anyway.
I understand that this section has been delayed over and over. I understand that it's frustrating for those who have waited so long. What I don't get is why people drive around barrels that block the ramps to access this incomplete road.
I'm not saying that I'm in favor of the people driving the road getting $125 tickets for "driving on a closed road" (that is apparently the name of their infraction). Government regulates too much already. If you want to drive on a closed road, it's your own problem.
I'm just saying that if they happen to melt their tires on hot asphalt, or their car gets demolished by a steamroller trying to do its job... I'd understand that too.
